SUMMARY
OUR MISSION
New Triad is a non-profit educational organization founded in 2002 to provide classical musicians with innovative performance skills that lead to more accessible concerts. New Triad’s interdisciplinary training helps artists dramatically increase both the expressiveness and visual impact of their performances.
OUR PROGRAMS
- Performance Skills Seminars are available to universities, conservatories, and festivals. Young performers develop essential preparation and presentation skills through targeted work in drama, movement and psychology. These disciplines, synthesized with musical interpretation, are often not included in traditional curricula of music schools and festivals. To date, New Triad seminars have been sponsored by institutions including Manhattan School of Music, Chamber Music America, Yale University, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Mannes College, Sarah Lawrence College, Texas Music Festival, Ohio State University, Voces Intimae in Dallas and as Professional Mentoring projects at The Juilliard School.
- Professional Training Workshops in New York City featuring combinations of New Triad’s Performance Skills Seminars are offered for instrumentalists and singers. Each workshop culminates in a public performance by the participants.
- Performance Enhancement Sessions re available to soloists, ensembles, young artist programs, and competitions to improve presentation skills for specific performance projects.
- Arts-in-Education Residencies. New Triad Performance Specialists have designed educational programs specifically for K-12 students: “Me and My Song” (K-6) and “Theory of Three: Chamberfest” (grades 7-12).
