EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
OUR MISSION
New Triad for Collaborative Arts is a 501(c)(3) educational and arts services organization that provides professional presentation skills to performers, creating classical music performances that are more accessible to audiences. New Triad is the only organization of its kind that goes beyond musical instruction to train artists in how to visually engage and personally communicate with their audiences.
This unique program – combining the disciplines of drama, movement, musical interpretation, and the art of speaking – affords artists the opportunity to dramatically increase their expressiveness and transform the visual impact of their performances. The interactive and intensive process facilitated by professionals at the top of their fields enables performing artists to make a viable and successful live impact in today's musical market, which is dominated by HD transmission, YouTube®, and other electronic media. New Triad not only improves the caliber of performance art as it stands today, but also serves to create cultural excellence for future generations.
The value of our programs has been recognized by leading universities and conservatories that have sponsored New Triad programs, including:
- Manhattan School of Music
- Yale University
- Mannes College
- Sarah Lawrence College
- The Juilliard School
Many other institutions have expressed serious interest but do not have the budget resources to finance our programs. New Triad therefore relies on individual and corporate donors and foundation grants in order to sponsor our programs at educational institutions. In addition, many administrative services including program development, legal, and finance are performed by members of the Board of Directors without compensation, which optimizes our ability to utilize donations and grants for programs.
OUR PROGRAMS
Vocal Division – Opera, Song and Audition Preparation
Instrumental Division – Solo and Chamber Music
- 4-Day New Triad "Fests": These residencies featuring two New Triad faculty members include master classes for strengthening presentation skills, individual sessions, interdisciplinary team coaching, and a student performance to culminate the program. The four programs targeted by musical genre include: Aria "Fest", Song "Fest", Solo "Fest", and Chamber "Fest". "Fest" derives from the German word for "strong" and "celebration". Drama, movement, public speaking, and psychology synthesized with musical interpretation provide enhancements to current coursework at colleges, festivals and for post-graduate emerging artists.
- 1-Day Master Classes Plus and 2-Day Residencies: These programs include lectures as well as hands-on training featuring one aspect of presentation, such as stage presence, deportment or public speaking in the concert setting.
- Customized consultations are also available to soloists, ensembles, young artist programs, and competitions to enhance presentation skills for specific performance projects.
